Hi! I just joined this comm in hopes of someone directing me to where I can download 'Sooty' episodes? In particular from the Matthew Corbett years.

I know alot are uploaded on Youtube but I want to download them and put them on DVD's. I've tried looking for files and torrents but come up with nothing. Can anyone help? It would be much appreciated!

Penny Lane? Pebble Lane? Big green thing! [28 Jan 2010|10:14am]

[ mood | groggy ]

Does anyone recall a show, I believe the title may have been 'Pebble Lane' or 'Penny Lane', but I've had no luck searching for it under these titles. It wasn't animated, and featured a little girl (possibly with syblings) who befriends a magical green bipedal creature with long pointy griffon ears and fur. This creature had the ability to disappear, though I suspect his ears remained visible as I can picture them twitching on their own. Any ideas?

It may have only aired in England, I feel it had an English countryside feel about it, but I'm not sure. I sued to ahve a book relating to it, where you ahd to rub a penny over the pages to make the green creature appear.

I remember a show I used to watch in the early 90s, not sure though if it had been taped in the 80s. I don't remember it well, but at least one episode featured a patchwork stuffed animal lamb (possibly with strings attached to the feet and puppeteered from above) which was running (floating, really) across a patchwork quilt. There was a woman's voice over the top, in a sort of soothing tone that your grandmother might use to tell a bedtime story. In fact, perhaps it was a show about bedtime stories. I vaguely remember there being other animals in addition to the lamb, maybe on different episodes. there was also possibly a mention of cabbages, though I may just be making that up.
Can anyone help me out??? (It's not Five Minutes More)

Hmmm, seems to be pretty quiet 'round here lately :(

Anyway, I'm new :D

I lived in England until 2000, when I moved to Australia age 7, so I've got a bit of a best-of-both-worlds thing going on. British kid's shows have more sentimental value, I guess. I wasn't so huge on Aussie cartoons.

Just wondering if anyone remembers these:

-The Sooty Show (ok, from what I've seen of the comm so far, quite a few people remember Sooty, but I love it anyway. Matthewww)
-The Magic Roundabout (This was a cracktastic show from like, the 70's, and it was originally French, but when the animations were shipped over to the UK, they didn't send the scripts, so they basically made up the stories. So they were extremely weird. Observe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caIS7eYfpMA)
-The Wombles! :D
-Rosie and Jim! Two ragdoll puppets that live on a houseboat with a duck and a paedophile. Ok, so that last bit isn't necessarily true, but after finding a clip on YouTube of the intro, something seemed suss. Something I apparently hadn't noticed as a five year old.

There's another show that I can't remember the name of. I don't think I liked it at first, but it grew on me. It was some woman (it was live action btw) who lived on a farm, and she had a plane. I think in the introduction she flew around in her plane for a bit and did farmwork, and then the show began. That's extremely vague, but I remember watching it before school.

There are probably more, but that's all I can remember for now.

Hi! I'm new!

I would like to say how happy I am to find this community, Cartoons were a HUGE part of my childhood and such. It's so much fun to think about all of the shows I loved to watch as a kid. I'm very happy that cartoon network is airing the old series of He-Man and the masters of the universe.

I was trying to think of shows that I didn't see listed in the user info. Here's a couple, does anyone remember that 'Dino Riders'cartoon? There were normal humans who kept dinosaurs and used them to fight the bad guys who were like half-reptile type humans..who also had dinosaurs, but they brainwashed theirs and made them have spooky red eyes. I remember one of the bad guys had a cobra's head and the main bad guy was a froggish guy who had a helmet filled with water..He had a T rex.. Sorry about the rambling I'm just typing things down as it comes to me. Anyway, I remember I had a few videos and action figures. I loved that show.

Another show I saw not listed is 'The Ferals'...a show that used to be on abc in the afternoons..I used to watch it all the time on abc along with Rocko's Modern Life and Ahhhh Real Monsters :)

I did some reasearch, here's a link to a site for all the Dino-Rider info...Plus it shows action figures which I havn't seen since I owned some as a kid :D

Australian Kids Show - Hunter [25 Aug 2005|09:58am]

[ mood | giggly ]

Hi Everyone! I'm new, my name is Katie :D
Does anyone remember the show 'Hunter'?
I'm not really sure how to describe it in a way that will make people remember it but here goes:
....he had a pet mouse and he used to ride around on his bike solving sort of scientific questions, for example something like "How is Ice-Cream Made?"
Hunter had a moustache and would wear a hat and trench coat all the time and he would take his mouse on his investigations on his bike. The mouse sat in a little custon made house sort of thing which was postioned on the handle bars of his bike.
Ring any bells?
anyways I really love this community, reading back through all the posts has just made me so happy, remembering all the shows that I loved when I was little. Thanks everyone :D

Ah, the old days..... I forgot I had these. I went to a sharehouse I once lived in, and went into the shed to look around (it's tradition for anyone who's ever lived there to leave stuff in the shed ^_^) and loa and behold, they were just sitting there in the sunlight, I swear I could hear angels singing...
